  • Seasons in Sweden FC: 6

– The man in charge, the best dressed Coach in the league and together with an outstanding and uncompromising gut feeling, he directs his troops from the sideline. At times also a hard working classy mid-fielder with a running capability matched by few.

GOALKEEPERS

Henrik Andersson

  • First club: Danmarks IF
  • Nr of seasons in Sweden FC: 4

– Alert keeper with good timing and glue in his gloves. Invaluable to the team as he’s also an allround outfield player with a smooth touch and good eye for the game.

Arvid Palmkvist

– Excellent stand-in keeper for Henke. One of those valuable Sweden FC players with a great attitude and a steadfast winner’s mentality.

DEFENSE

James Addinall

  • First club: Collingham Colts
  • Nr of seasons in Sweden FC: 6

– Incarnates devotion and team spirit. Has been on the left fall back for five years and as reliable and assiduous as a galley slave. If anyone is ‘humble in defense’ it’s James.

Tobias Ghersetti (c)

  • First club: Azalea BK
  • Nr of seasons in Sweden FC: 5

– Took over as Captain  in 2011 and as the director in defence. Getting into a challenge with him is likely to be an unpleasant experience. Fear no one and no thing. The team’s catapult as he’s a very skilled thrower.

Andreas Aabel

  • First club: Hauketo IF
  • Nr of seasons in Sweden FC: 6

– Cornerstone of the team, invaluable both on and off the pitch. He’s been there ever since the start and surely is one of the most reliable and allround soldiers in the yellow army. Performs well as fall back, winger or centrocampista, always putting the team first.

MIDFIELD

David Fitzgerald

– Scunthorpe’s finest. Socially Fitz brings an added value to the team which cannot be valued enough . Football wise, he contributes greatly with his remarakable understanding of the game, always being in the right position and always acting constructive. Icy nerves when scoring the fourth penalty in the final shoot-out against Poland.

Mikael Ljungblom

  • First club: Azalea BK
  • Nr of seasons in Sweden FC: 5

– Ljungblom separates himself from the average Sweden FC player by his (lack of) length and his technics. One of the hardest-working wingers in Euroleague, playing an active role all over the pitch and as such inestimable to the team. Named ‘Baron of the skies’ after having hanged in the air for an unexpected amount of time and thereby scoring the game-winning goal securing Sweden the league title in 2011.

The following have played at least one season in Sweden FC and more importantly they’ve made a great remark:

Michael Thorelli

  • Nr of seasons in Sweden FC: 4. Games played: 51

– Star-striker Thorelli is one of few who played professionally back in the days and he certainly conserved his skills over the years. Most likely the best attacker in the league whenever he feels like it. Although his gamin alike practical-joking abilities are as indispensable for Sweden FC’s well-being.

Olof Skoog

  • Nr of seasons in Sweden FC: 5. Games played: 47

– Long-time serving spitfire midfield-attacker with excellent condition and a gentle touch. Often manages to score from strange angles or in a very theatrical way. Brings a lot of added-value to the team both on and off the pitch.

– A classic witty wizard two-touch winger always able to find his way out no matter how tricky the challenge might appear.

Marc Gawley

  • First club: Debdale Athletic FC
  • Nr of seasons in Sweden FC: 3. Games played: 18

– Marc, a very useful allround player, able to perform on a high level as defender, midfielder and even in goal. Many remember a legendary game against Spain in 2011 when Marc stood in as keeper. Famous for his ceaseless running on the field. Coach hasn’t yet given up the idea of having Gawley back on the field.

Kieran Söder de Groote

  • Nr of seasons in Sweden FC: 2. Games played: 14

– No less than recklesness is his mantra and this certainly shows on the pitch. Bullfighting attitude on his right wing where few opponents dared to pass. Useful allround player 2010-2012.

– A colorful player who left no one untouched.

Eric Salmgren von Schantz

Mårten Wierup

  • First club: Danmarks IF
  • Nr of seasons ni Sweden FC: 4. Games played: 47

– Joined from the start and soon became a very reliable and humble fall back. Always putting the team first!
